1.used in metallurgical industry
Fluorite powder contains halogen element F, which can reduce the melting point of refractory substances, promote slag flow, make slag and metal separation, desulfurization and dephosphorization in the smelting process, and enhance the calcinability and tensile strength of metal. Therefore, as a flux is widely used in iron and steel smelting and ferroalloy production, iron smelting process and non-ferrous metal smelting. High quality acid grade fluorite is also used in electric furnaces to produce high quality special and special alloy steels, and a small part is used as casting agents in the steel casting industry. Acid fluorite powder is recovered by flotation method after crushing and grinding of raw ore. Smelting fluorite powder generally requires a content of calcium fluoride greater than 65%, and there are also certain requirements for the main impurity silica, and strict restrictions on sulfur and phosphorus.
The important use of fluorite powder in the chemical industry is the production of hydrofluoric acid.
Hydrofluoric acid is produced by the reaction of acid grade fluorite (fluorspar concentrate) with sulfuric acid in the heating furnace or tank, anhydrous hydrofluoric acid and aqueous hydrofluoric acid, are colorless liquid, volatile, with strong stimulating odor and strong corrosion, is the key raw materials for the production of various organic and inorganic fluorides and fluorine elements. In the aluminum industry, hydrofluoric acid is used to produce aluminum fluoride, artificial ice crystal 1 stone, sodium fluoride and magnesium fluoride; In the aviation and aerospace industry, hydrofluoric acid is mainly used to produce jet liquid propellant and missile jet fuel propellant. In the atomic energy industry, hydrofluoric acid is mainly used to make UF4, and then fluorinated to produce UF6, and separated 235U by gas diffusion or gas centrifugal method.
3. cement production: fluorite powder in cement production, as a mineralizing agent added, can reduce the sintering temperature of the charge, reduce fuel consumption, but also enhance the clinker liquid phase viscosity during sintering, promote the formation of tricalcium silicate. The amount of fluorite powder added in cement production is generally 4%~5% to 0.8%, 6~1%. Cement industry for fluorite quality requirements are not strict, the general CaF2 content can be more than 40%, the impurity content requirements do not make specific provisions.
Fluorite is the most important fluorine-containing industrial ore, human use of fluorite has a long history, in metallurgical industry, chemical industry, cement industry, glass industry, ceramic industry and other fields are widely used. The processed fluorite powder is widely used in chemical industry, steelmaking, non-ferrous metallurgy, glass and ceramics, such as military cable, optical fiber conduction and other advanced fields.
